Three young boxers from the Vikings Boxing Academy have been chosen to compete in the upcoming Gauteng schoolboy championships.
The championships will be taking place from 12–14 October in Soweto, and the three boxers – Aphelele Msomi, Amahle Msomi and Andrew Salhab – are very excited to be part of this big event.
According to their coach, Phillip du Randt, the three boxers are training very hard and are looking forward to bringing a gold medal home.
“I am very happy and privileged to be able to coach young men like these and am looking forward to seeing them in action in the ring. I wish them all the best for the championships,” Phillip said.
He added that the boxers are in need of boxing shoes and other equipment to enable them to compete in the first big event of their boxing careers, and said, “We are trying to raise money to help them with the needed items, and, if there are any persons or companies who would be able to help with a donation or sponsorship, we would really appreciate it.”
For more information on the boxers’ needs, or, if you are able to assist, contact Phillip on 081 212 9143.
