The launch of Rata Dijo (love for food) got the community to enjoy African food together.
On the first weekend of September, they gathered to enjoy the taste of African food. On the menu were tripe, liver, sheep’s head and other traditional African dishes.
For some, it was the first time they have eaten these African-inspired delicacies, however they enjoyed themselves.
“We decided to offer the community African cuisine because no one else in our neighbourhood does, and there is definitely a high demand for it,” said Rata Dijo co-founder, Sizwe Shabangu.
