Ward 70 councillor, Caleb Finn, has urged his residents to be patient after a storm wrecked havoc on 29 December.
Hi issued the following appeal:
“Dear Residents,
Please note that this afternoons storm has caused damages across the ward which include, multiple trees which have fallen over, damage to homes, multiple power failures, structural collapse of some informal dwellings and damage to multiple RDP flats in the Fleurhof area.
Many major roads are currently closed due to trees that have fallen down. These include Main Reef Road and Albertina Sisulu Road.
I would like to request that residents remain patient and that should you be affected by a power outage, fallen tree etc that you log this with the city’s call centre on 011-375-5555
Alternatively for City Power you can log on www.citypower.mobi as the call centre is overloaded with calls
I am in the area and on the ground with JMPD and other teams trying to attend to issues.
I am currently also receiving a high number of calls and messages, I will respond to everyone as soon as I can.
Kind Regards,
Cllr. Caleb Finn”
