Police stations across the province on high alert

According to a leaked internal memo, police stations across the province are on high alert.

Here is the memo* in full:

“Urgent message from Provincial Commissioner for all members to be alert.

All Cluster Commanders

All Station Commanders


1. The Provincial Commissioner instructs all officers and members who are working tonight to be alert.

2. Intelligence information indicate that there might be an attack on a police station with the intention to burn it.

3. Members need to heavily arm themselves and do patrols inside and outside their police station. Any suspicious activities need to be investigated.

4. The instructions are for all police stations, but especially the following police stations: Ennerdale, Eldorado Park, Sophiatown, Eersterust, De Deur, Kliptown, Devon and Randfontein.”

Roodepoort has seen violent protests twice this past week in both Florida and near Matholesville.
