Lantern athletes receive top honours

It was a glamorous affair at the recent annual Prestige Athletics Awards for Learners with Special Educational Needs (LSEN) schools where the top athletes from the province were honoured.

The award ceremony was held at Transvalia School on 27 March and three of Lantern School’s athletes received top awards. They are:

• Matthew Saville, who was announced as the best male field athlete of the year, as well as the junior victor ludorum

• Boipelo Gaowelwe, who was announced as the best female track athlete of the year as well as the junior victrix ludorum

• Paballo Lebelo, who was announced as the best male track athlete of the year

“We are very proud of these athletes and want to congratulate them on their excellent achievements. Well done,” said Rina la Grange from the school.
