Wallabies to face All Blacks in #RWC final

Adam Ashley Cooper scored a hat-trick of tries to put Australia into their fourth World Cup final and their first since 2003. They beat Argentina 29-15 at Twickenham to a capacity crowd of more than 80 000.

This means that the Wallabies will now face their trans-Tasman rivals New Zealand for a chance to win the Webb Ellis trophy for the third time in their history, a feat the All Blacks will also be gunning for.

Australia led 19-9 at half-time after Rob Simmons’ early try was followed by two from Ashley-Cooper.

But Ashley-Cooper’s third try, 10 minutes from time, sealed a win for Australia.

Fly-half Nicolas Sanchez kicked all of the Pumas’ points with five penalties, in front of an 80,025 crowd that included Argentina football great Diego Maradona.

Defeat meant Argentina, also beaten semi-finalists in 2007, will now face South Africa in Friday’s third-place play-off.

Australia: Tries Simmons, Ashley-Cooper 3. Cons Foley 3. Pen Foley.

Argentina: Penalties Sánchez 5.
