Maragons riders not horsing around

Maragon Private Schools’ equestrians continued to raise their game at the second of the four Qualifiers of the SANESA (South African National Equestrian Schools Association) Championships. Both the first and second qualifiers were held at Maple Ridge, the second taking place on 25 and 26 March.

The schools’ riders work hard to be the best in the province and their results are proof. Overall, they achieved eight gold medals, nine silver medals, seven bronze medals and numerous Top 10 placings. Anika von Metzinger was awarded a gold and two silver medals for her strong performances in various categories, while Elle-Sune Botha received two silver medals. Hannah Gerber won three golds and one silver medal, Shaeleigh Riddle won two golds and three silvers, and Rebekah Rebello won two gold medals, and a bronze, and a fourth place finish. Charnay Bean won a silver medal and a bronze, and had a fourth place finish, while Christiaan Prinsloo received five bronze medals as well as a fourth place finish in one category and a 12th place in another. Anneshia Kock finished fifth, ninth and 10th in various categories, while Shani Botha placed fourth, fifth, eighth and two 10th places, also in a variety of categories.
